Fortnite: Best Sensitivity, FOV & Controller Curves

Aim is consistency. Use these ranges as a starting point, then lock them for 2–3 weeks while you build muscle memory.

Mouse & keyboard (eDPI ranges)

PlaystyleDPIIn-game senseDPINotes
Balanced8000.08–0.1164–88Great general starting range
Low sens (precision)8000.05–0.0740–56Best for long-range aim; needs big mousepad
High sens (builders)8000.12–0.1696–128Snappier edits; harder to micro-adjust
  • ADS sens: 0.60–0.75 of hipfire; keep scoped slightly lower.
  • Disable mouse acceleration in OS; set 1000 Hz polling if stable.

Controller (Linear vs Exponential)

Linear

One-to-one input; faster micro-adjustments when you master it. Great for high sens players.

Exponential

Gentler at the stick center; easier for new players and tracking.

SettingSuggestedNotes
Look Sens (hip)40–55Start 45; raise only if you miss 180s
ADS Sens8–14Higher = faster tracking; lower = precision
Build Multiplier1.8–2.3Faster builds without killing aim
Edit Multiplier1.8–2.3Match build feel
DeadzonesLeft 8–12 / Right 6–10Lower until you get drift, then back up 1–2
Aim AssistOn (default)Pair with consistent ADS sens

Gyro (Switch/PC/PS) is great for fine aiming: keep low sensitivity and pair with stick for turning.

Graphics & performance mode

  • Enable Performance Mode (if available) for high/steady FPS on low-mid PCs.
  • Frame limit: match monitor (120/144/165). Competitive? Cap slightly below max to avoid spikes.
  • Textures medium, shadows off/low, effects low, view distance medium/high.
  • Turn on Visualize Sound Effects if you play without headset.

Warm-up routine (10 minutes)

  1. 2 minutes tracking (bot aim map).
  2. 3 minutes shotgun flicks (close-range drills).
  3. 3 minutes edits + piece control.
  4. 2 minutes long-range AR beam practice.

Don’t change settings daily. Keep them for at least two weeks while you grind the same routine.
