NPolls is a public polling site. We publish one clear question at a time across geopolitics, anime, celebrities, gaming and tech, count one vote per person, and show the running total to everyone at the same time. Longer pieces, with the polls embedded, go in the blog.

No. Voting is open to everyone and the result appears immediately — you never have to hand over an email address to find out what other people said.

An account is only needed to comment, react, follow other members, keep a history of what you have voted on, or take part in Monthly Gifts.

No. Votes are final.

This is deliberate rather than a limitation. If votes could be withdrawn, a result could be walked back once it stopped being the one somebody wanted, and a total that can be edited afterwards is not really a total. Read the options before you choose.

Each option shows its share of all votes cast on that poll, and the figures update live as new votes arrive.

Percentages are rounded so that they add up to exactly 100 — if three options split evenly you will see 33 / 33 / 34 rather than three 33s and a missing point.

For signed-in members the database enforces one vote per account per poll, so a second attempt is rejected outright.

Guests are checked against a signed browser token plus a short-lived device signature, and we rate-limit bursts from a single network. It is not unbeatable — nothing on the open web is — but the checks are real, and we would rather publish a smaller honest number than a large decorative one.

Polls are written and published by the NPolls team. That keeps the wording consistent and stops the site filling up with duplicate or leading questions.

Several a week across the categories, driven by what is actually happening rather than a fixed schedule. Subscribe in the footer and you will get a note when new ones open.

Yes, and it is one of the more useful things you can send us. Use the contact form with the question you want asked and the options you think it needs.

If you think an existing poll is worded in a way that steers the answer, tell us that too. We have rewritten questions because a reader made that case.

Pick a username, give an email address and a password, and the account is active straight away. There is no confirmation email to wait for.

Your username and email both have to be unused — the signup form tells you before you submit if either is already taken.

Contact us through the contact form from the email address on the account and we will sort it out manually.

We would rather say this plainly than leave you clicking a reset link that goes nowhere: automated password-reset email is not working at the moment, because outbound mail is blocked on our current host. Restoring it is on the list.

Everything is in My Account — notification preferences, your profile, and the visibility of your activity. From there you can also view your profile the way other people see it.

If a field you need is not editable, send us a note through the contact form.

Yes. Sign in anywhere and your votes, comments and notifications follow you. Votes you cast as a guest before signing in stay with that browser and are not merged into the account.

Yes to both. Send the request from the contact form using the address on the account.

Deleting removes your account, your comments and your reactions. Your votes stay in the totals, but detached from you — pulling individual votes back out would retroactively change results other people have already seen and relied on. The privacy policy sets this out in full.

You can comment on any poll and any article, and reply to other people's comments. Threads can be sorted by newest, oldest, most reacted or most replied.

There are six reactions rather than a single like button, and one per person per comment — pressing the same one again removes it. There is deliberately no downvote: burying an opinion is not the same as answering it.

A profile can carry an avatar, a cover image, a short bio, and your recent votes and comments. Members can follow each other.

It is private by default. Nothing appears publicly until you turn it on in My Account, and you can turn it off again at any time.

Almost always because it was reported and reviewed, and it broke one of the rules in the terms — spam, abuse, impersonation, or posting someone's personal details.

Removed comments earn nothing, including toward Monthly Gifts. If you think it was a mistake, tell us through the contact form and we will look again.

Every comment has a report control — use it, and it goes straight into the moderation queue with the context attached.

For anything else, including bugs, use the contact form and include the page URL. A screenshot helps more than a description.

Your score combines activity on polls and articles:

• Comments posted × 3
• Reactions received × 1
• Distinct polls you commented on × 0.5

The third term is there on purpose: it rewards taking part across the site rather than posting thirty times under one poll. Removed comments and reactions to your own comments do not count. Your standing is on Monthly Gifts.

The leaderboard locks at the end of each calendar month and the top-scoring member is selected. Prizes run from $20 to $100, scaled by how much activity the month actually saw. Winners are notified in-app.

Ties break in this order: more comments first, then more reactions received, then activity spread across more polls. If everything is still level, the member who got there first wins.
