ANNOUNCED / SEPTEMBER 2026

One event. Two very different moods.

Activision’s September 8 announcement puts The Haunting’s Season 06 arrival on September 17, across Black Ops 7 and Warzone. Two standouts offer different reasons to return: Hordepoint’s objective battles and Warzone’s Haunted Hollow setting. Read the official announcement.

This is a preview of what has been announced, not a hands-on review. Our question is simple: which experience would make you call your squad first?

Pick your kind of chaos

Hordepoint: hold your ground

The returning limited-time mode adds zombies to Hardpoint. According to the announcement, controlling the objective turns the undead against the opposing team.

Our take: this is the more appealing pick if a clear shared objective gets your squad talking. The attraction is a decision everyone can understand: commit to the point or regroup.

Choose it for: teamwork built around a focused objective, rather than the promise of a particular reward or an untested “best” loadout.

Haunted Hollow: follow the mystery

Haunted Hollow is the announced nighttime version of Haven’s Hollow. The reveal highlights a ghost train, interactive pumpkins and newly exposed ruins.

Our take: choose this if the setting is what pulls you back. Exploring a familiar place with a different atmosphere can be a good excuse for a shared evening.

Choose it for: the mood and the discoveries. A striking reveal does not tell us how every encounter will feel in a live match.

A mode versus a setting—not a performance test

Hordepoint is a multiplayer mode; Haunted Hollow is a Warzone setting. We are comparing the experiences that catch your interest, not claiming they are equivalent playlists.

There is no score for which is “better” here. Your answer might depend on who is online, what your group already plays and whether the evening calls for a familiar objective or a change of scenery.

Where would you go first?

Vote for the first thing you would want to try. You can be excited about both; this is a first-stop choice, not a promise to ignore the other.

Tell us why → Is it the objective, the horror atmosphere or simply the mode your friends prefer?

Before you plan the session

  1. Check the live schedule.Use the publisher’s current announcements and in-game information before making firm plans. A reveal is not a guarantee that every feature shares the same availability window.
  2. Agree on the experience.Ask your group what would make the evening fun. Do not assume everyone wants the same playlist because they liked the same trailer.
  3. Save the verdict for playtime.Choose what interests you now. Judge balance, technical performance and long-term appeal after there is evidence—not from concept art or anticipation.
